I know someone who has lied about their income in order to get a loan for margin. I know that by theory they could get in trouble legally. However, does this ever happen? are there ways for the online broker to see if that income statement is actually truthful? Are there any laws around lying about income for loans? Are they ever enforced?

Question by T E: How soon does your online broker update your daily account balance?
I am with the TD Waterhouse WebBroker, and I have generally wait AT LEAST till 10:30PM each day before my account is updated, including shares bought for the day, price paid, and closing price of the share bought for the day, and closing prices all shares held in the account.
I wonder if other online brokers will provide sooner account balance upate?

I recently bought some tickets for a sade concert from an online broker and there is someone elses name on the tickets. The tickets are actually the whole page? So I recently signed up for a sogotrade account because I liked their three dollar trade rate and several other things. However, I’m dissappointed that they don’t offer mutual funds so I will not be using them after all. Does anyone know a good online broker for penny stocks that also allows for mutual funds? I’d like to avoid incurring fees for penny stocks if at all possible – especially ok stocks priced under a dollar.
