Question by xxsnapshot: I need good trading charts and discount broker any recomendation?
Best answer:
Answer by jebediabartlettFrom what I hear, Scottrade is really decent from a trading standpoint…even to the small investor. I’m more long- term, but day-traders I converse with rave about the screeners you can modify with ” highs of the day” and ” volume moves” etc. etc.

Question by : What is the best online discount broker for new investors?
Best answer:
Answer by Redjr01I like Scottrade because of the low commissions. However, it depends on your level of expertise. If you need some guidance I would go with Fidelity, Schwab, or other online brokers that offer guidance. They may cost more per trade but if you need a little guidance, they’re good. With the bigger online brokers they do have active trader discounts. So, when you are looking decide if you are an investor or a trader.

Question by Laura C: I need guidance on choosing a discount broker for purchasing stock. Who do you use and why?
I have been looking into Charles Schwab, e-Trade, Ameritrade, Scottrade and TradeKing. Any feedback or additional information you could give me would be greatly appreciated, since I have heard conflicting information (especially about e-Trade, Ameritrade, Scottrade and TradeKing’s hidden fees and poor customer service…and nothing negative about Charles Schwab, but they do seem more expensive.)

Question by Larry W: What are the drawbacks of using a discount broker over a full service broker to invest my IRA Rollover funds?
Best answer:
Answer by dredude52If you make your own investment decisions, there aren’t any drawbacks.
The full service broker is there for people who need hand-holding, who need “advice,” and someone to shuffle the responsibility on to.
You don’t say what you’re invested in, but a rollover should be a simple matter and not require “advice.”
In today’s technologically advanced systems and internet service, the full-service broker is so 20th Century.
