I have around 3000 dollars to invest in Stocks and ETF. I would like a combination between the two. I already have mutual funds with Fidelity but was thinking about doing EFT’s and Stocks with another discount broker. Answer by Dan SoschinFull service usually means you can speak with someone and obtain investment advice. This is generally a good way to go if you have (1) a lot of money… usually above six figures and (2) if you don’t know anything about investing.
If you don’t have a lot of money, the brokers fees will really eat into your earnings and they won’t pay much attention to you.

Answer by Jim ZYou didn’t mention if you wanted a full service discount broker, or an online broker. For an online broker, use TDAmeritrade, Scottrade, or E-Trade. TDAmeritrade has great free software for investing and investment tools. If you want a full service broker, try Charles Schwab
