Say you’ve found a stock to buy.
It’s a mid-cap stock that’s on a 3-month uptrend, trading near support.
Looks good.

The index however looks overbought and likely to go down for a few days.

Would you buy in?

Is there some measure to see how correlated a stock’s price is with the index?

Why are Nasdaq futures trading at the 1840 level for the June 2010 contract when it’s now trading around 2200?

Question by M K: Why are Nasdaq futures trading at the 1840 level for the June 2010 contract when it’s now trading around 2200?
I don’t understand futures all too well. Can someone explain the reason?

Best answer:

Answer by raysorI think you are looking at two different indices. NASDAQ Composite is 2219 and NASDAQ 100 is 1842. The Future should be fairly in line but while the markets asre closed there may be a premium or discount to account for traders expectations.

Is online trading with Zecco better and cheaper than Scottrade?

Question by Bman: Is online trading with Zecco better and cheaper than Scottrade?
Zecco advertises that they are much cheaper then the others, but are they really cheaper, and are their online services for trading stocks and options good?

Best answer:

Answer by ABThey are cheaper but their interface is horrible. The quotes are always behind and I couldn’t find half of the things I needed on their website. I ended up moving my accounts to a different brokerage so I could actually keep track of my money and execute trades for the correct price.
