Question by ayo_k: My question on futures spread trading?
Why do potential profits from the speculative deals may only be substantial if the trader’s belief in a commodity price fall is different to the views of the majority of other traders
Best answer:
Answer by TylerIts like a horse race. If everyone bids for the same horse, the profits thin out amongst all those people.
However, if only one guy bids on the odd ball (the price falling rather than rising) he will reap the profits divided amongst only a much smaller group of people.
